Combining my lifelong love of literature with my professional background in animation, it was only a matter of time before these two worlds came together into a prototype for the Augmented Reality App, displayed below—inspired by Don Quijote, a true masterpiece of Spanish Literature.

Built as my personal project of an XR Course at Circuit Stream, this prototype features two primary functions:

  1. Displaying specific information about the book through Augmented Reality; features like, the country of origin, literary period, and the biography of the author.

  2. Depicting some of the scenes as described in the book, by way of animation.

One of the exciting things about the structure of this app is its ability to be applied to a wide range of products, to display facts as well as some fun animations with the use of Augmented Reality.

For my fellow techies out there, I used Maya for the 3D assets and animation, and Unity, Vuforia, and AR Foundation for the AR section.

For fun, with Augmented Reality I was able to place the animated book and the character in the real space where I was.
